ACADEMIC TUTORING

Why Academic Tutoring?

Why Academic Tutoring?
Throughout the years, research has shown that the best and fastest way to close learning gaps and to see academic improvement is through tutoring. Tutoring programmes can help your child develop study habits and learn skills that will help in setting up your child for success for his or her entire life.
At AMP, we have trained professionals dedicated to ensuring that children in the programme receive individual/ group tutoring. Additionally, children will also benefit from being paired with a ‘study buddy’. Lesson plans will be developed to meet the needs of the children where they are at academically, as well as motivate them and provide them with the tools necessary to succeed in any learning environment.

Tutoring is offered to:
- primary school students and
- secondary school students

MENTORSHIP

CBA’s Mentorship/ Volunteer Programme

CBA’s Mentorship/ Volunteer Programme is structured, in a one-to-two/ one-to-one relationship within an academic setting. The mentorship approach allows students and individuals to learn from one another. Our programme provides a path to success through knowledge and skill transfer.

MEDIATION

Peer Mediation

At CBA, we provide peer mediation training to all students. Tutors also have the opportunity to be trained in Peer Mediation if they are interested. Knowing that conflict is inevitable, our aim is to help student acquire skills that will help them to manage conflicts, disagreements and resolve problems between peers, groups, individuals, colleagues and within the family.
All students will be trained in this component and will have the opportunity to become certified ‘peer mediators’.
Benefits of peer mediation: - Students will:
  • Acquire skills to manage stress and tension among staff and peers
  • Learn effective communication and problem solving skills
  • Depend less on authority figures and more on their own solutions
  • Develop leadership skills and increase their self esteem
  • Receive practical training that can be duplicated among peers
